Retina Surgeon
SUMMARY
We are seeking a Fellowship trained Retina Surgeon to join our established, busy, non-PE, retina-only private practice based in Tallahassee, Florida. Our practice of six board certified retina surgeons covers North Florida and South Georgia. Our group offers schedule flexibility, partner support, and generous benefits. We have three busy Georgia satellites and a clinical trials team. Florida’s population continues to grow, and Tallahassee is the epicenter of the northern region.

Ophthalmic Technician
Southern Vitreoretinal Associates provides the most advanced eye care in the Southeast. We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician for our Tallahassee, Valdosta, and Albany locations. Experience is not required, but must be willing to learn.
Job Description
- Effectively communicate with patients and physicians
- Obtain medical history, visual acuity and ocular pressure. Update patient charts when needed.
- Progression to photography, ocular procedure assisting, and medical scribing
- Maintain knowledge of operations required for clinical equipment and medication
Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and computer work
- Travel between offices when necessary
- Must be able to lift 20 lb when necessary

Business Office Specialist
The ideal applicants will have an extensive knowledge of medical billing, collections, and reimbursement of claims. They will also be highly proficient with all aspects of verifying eligibility and benefits, working patient and insurance accounts, and obtaining authorizations. This person should be a self-starter that works well in a team environment as well as individually with attention to detail.
Job Description
Payment posting to accounts receivable system from all insurance carriers, patients, and funding companies.
- Extensive A/R work, claim denials, submitting appeals, checking claim statuses, confirming payments match fee schedules, calling insurance companies
- Obtaining insurance eligibility and benefits information with all major insurance companies.
- Able to explain patients benefits to patients in a clear and professional manner
- Obtain authorizations for office visits and physician administered medications
- Calculate patient amount due and contact patient via telephone
- Review schedules prior to date of service
- Will approve scheduled and same day injections after checking for necessary authorizations and communicate such to clinical staff
- Maintains excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with physicians, patients, and co-workers
- Working with Patient Assistance Programs to enroll patients and the ability to explain these programs to patients
- ICD -10 / CPT Code knowledge
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret explanation of benefits
- Payment posting to accounts receivable system
Requirements
- 2 years of billing experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication skills
- Computer literacy with medical accounts receivable programs and internet-based websites
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Able to follow directions quickly and efficiently with varying workloads and interruptions. Must be able to work well under pressure and deal with coworkers in a courteous and cooperative manner.
Pay ranges from $16.00 – $20.00/hour
